Neil Krepela, ASC is a two time Academy Award nominee for Best Visual Effects for 2010 THE YEAR WE MAKE CONTACT and CLIFFHANGER.

He began his career in the late 1970’s building the visual effects powerhouse Industrial Light and Magic. Krepela went on to supervise the matte department for THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, RADERS OF THE LOST ARK, ET and a number of other films at ILM.

In1983 Krepela became a key member of the core staff at Boss Films.  While there, he worked on over twenty films serving as visual effects supervisor on half of them. 

In 1996 Krepela joined Walt Disney Studios as visual effects supervisor of the monumental live action/animated film DINOSAUR. There he helped design the digital studio, production pipeline and procedures to produce a record breaking 80 plus minutes of photo-real 3D computer animation combined with live action backgrounds. This amount of effects in a single motion picture was an industry first.
